Peter Fortune MP this week urged the Government to help reimburse Northpoint residents who have faced financially ruinous costs after finding dangerous cladding.
After the Grenfell Tower tragedy, Northpoint was one of the buildings found to be clad in the same dangerous material, aluminium composite material. While the Conservative government's remediation fund paid for the cladding to be removed and replaced, leasehold residents faced over £700,000 in costs for waking watches, fire wardens and alarms until the work was completed.
In a question to the Building Safety Minister Alex Norris, Peter Fortune MP asked the Government what steps it will take to reimburse residents.
