Peter was elected as the Member of Parliament for Bromley and Biggin Hill in July 2024. He has lived in Bromley with his wife and family for nearly 20 years, serving the community as a local councillor and then as a London Assembly Member.
He grew up on a council estate in Lambeth and attended Bishop Thomas Grant School in Streatham, South London. After leaving school, he worked in the UK and abroad before moving to Bromley to start a family. He then worked at the News Shopper and other local media titles while his wife taught at local primary schools.
In May 2010, Peter was first elected as a Bromley councillor representing Cray Valley East (2010-14). He then served Hayes and Coney Hall (2014-21). He was Deputy Leader of Bromley Council and Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Families, leading the transformation of Children's Services, which received an Ofsted grade of 'Good' with 'Outstanding Leadership' in 2019.
Peter then served as the London Assembly Member for Bexley and Bromley until 2024. During this time, he served as the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group, Chairman of the Budget and Performance Committee, and Deputy Chairman of the Planning and Regeneration Committee.
